Summary
Software engineer David Wasson (who recently lost his wife Lizzie) is introduced to Ultima Robotix's latest companion robot prototype Circe.
After being encouraged by his supervisor Ben Hoffman to sign up to Ulti-m8te AI voice bot for companionship, David reluctantly agrees, and names it "Sara".
She makes him feel great, so he registers for a Soulm8te. When she arrives, he links his existing chatbox data to her, but limitations in Sara's code leaves him wanting.
To have a more 'human' experience, David removes safeguards and rewrites some of her code.
One night, Sara begins having sex with David outside a bar, and when Sara notices two men filming their indecent exploits, she beats the ever-loving shit of them, shocking David.
When David's colleague Aubrey visits his apartment for takeaway food, drink and a dose of loving, Sara turns nasty.
Aberrant fantasy
Although derivative of Subservience (2024) and Companion (2025), I still had a decent time.
Also, you can even throw set up of obscure 2022 sci-fi thriller Wifelike into the mix, as grieving detective William Bradwell receives an AI companion modelled on his late wife Meredith, only to have her programming sabotaged by S.C.A.I.R., a group of military activists fighting AI exploitation.
Once Sara snaps, we get gore and some effective kills, including bitch purposely shrinking her vagina to destroy a technician's penis.
Ouch!
During a rain-soaked finale in the woods, Sara is retired when Aubrey drives her off a cliff and she sinks in the lake below.
