Things don't smell as fresh as before, but splendid animation, great story, excellent performances and sharp script ensures a brilliant follow up to blocktastic original.
Catchy Song isn't whistling dixie - because it really does get stuck inside your head.
Opening bars of Everything's Not Awesome has the vibe of Karma Police and whoa, I think I finally get Radiohead.
'Marvel not answering our calls' is a nice dig at Disney. Don't forget, original featured Han Solo and Chewie, but that was before rights deal with Lucasfilm was finalised.
Emmet's bitter and neglected future self Rex is a 'galaxy defending archaeologist,* cowboy, and raptor trainer'.
Character is an amalgam of Chris Pratt's previous roles.
Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Guardians of the Galaxy), Josh Faraday (The Magnificent Seven 2016) and Owen Grady (Jurassic World).
*Fuelling further speculation of him being the next Indiana Jones.
