Terrifier 2 - The scoop and digest

Writer/director Damien Leone's sequel contains violence so extreme, it apparently caused some to vomit and faint.

Lauren LaVera - Sienna
David Howard Thornton - Art the Clown
Elliott Fullam - Jonathan
Sarah Voigt - Barbara
Kailey Hyman - Brooke
Amelie McLain - The Little Pale Girl

Summary

Art is resurrected by an unknown entity and gives his bloodstained clothes a wash at the laundromat.  During which, he encounters a young girl dressed similar to him, who through the eyes of a soon to be murdered onlooker, appears to be a figment of his imagination.

One year later.

New protagonist Sienna applies the finishing touches to her Halloween costume designed by her late father, whose brain tumour not only killed him, also caused strange visions.

Her younger brother Jonathan is obsessed with serial killers and plans to go to a party as Art, which is obviously frowned upon.

On Halloween, the slaying begins.

Mid-credits

At Miles County Psychiatric Hospital, Victoria (sole survivor from the original), suddenly becomes heavily pregnant and gives birth to Art's head.

WTF?

Multiple goregasm

Bodies are mutilated, bludgeoned, torn apart and dismembered, heads explode and faces melted off are just a few examples of how peeps are brutally killed.

Effects from Damien Leone and Phil Falcone are really impressive but some murders are unintentionally hilarious.

Thornton excels again, playfully mocking his hapless victims with sadistic glee.

Original was criticised for having no story.  This rights that wrong, and even has the balls to have character development.

Fine.  But hardly anything makes any fucking sense.

Towards the end, Art apparently kills Sienna with a pointy stick.  It then becomes 'alive', reviving her, introducing a bizarre supernatural element.

As father's sword was seen in a nightmare sequence, is weapon even of this earth?

After she decapitates Art, the Little Pale Girl shows up and takes head with her.

Confused? You and me both.

Also, how can Sienna and Jonathan see LPG when no other human can?

Unless third comes to fruition, shit remains a mystery.

My final gripe is running time (about 2h 20), which is way too long.

Here's lyrical meat of children's television show.

"Drop on by the Clown Café your favourite meals on wheels.
The menu is disgusting and it's full of special deals.
Nothing here is good for you so grab yourself a tray cos' food's a little funny at the Clown Café."

Catchy, right?
