The Marvels - The scoop and digest

Nia DaCosta directs the sequel to Captain Marvel, which also continues TV series Ms. Marvel.

Brie Larson - Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel
Teyonan Parris - Monica Rambeau
Iman Vellani - Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel
Zawe Ashton - Dar-Benn
Samuel L. Jackson - Nick Fury

Summary

Following the collapse of the Supreme Intelligence, new Kree leader Dar-Benn retrieves one half of a Quantum Band on MB-418.

Fury contacts Carol Danvers and her estranged niece Monica Rambeau from the S.A.B.E.R. space station to investigate a jump point anomaly.

When Monica touches wormhole, she, Danvers and Kamala switch places through teleportation, as light powers are 'entangled'.

The girls must work together to prevent Dar-Benn from repeatedly rupturing jump points and destroying the universe.

Mid-credits

Monica awakes in a parallel dimension where she is greeted by an alternate version of her mother Maria and Hank McCoy.

For Hala

Shambolic, tedious and unspectacular, the MCU is in turmoil.

Vellani injects some light relief, but Larson and Parris are boring.

On ocean planet Aladna, singing is the only way to communicate with people.  I have no fucking idea what tone they were going for, but sequence is utterly bizarre.

I also found Flerken litter hoovering up all and sundry stupid.

Oh, Ashton was useless and definitely the WORST villain I've ever seen.
