Summary
Sometime in 2021, a woman called Claire meets Shelly when checking into the Venus Motel. Later that night, the Strangers kidnap and kill her.
Back in the present and immediately after the events of Chapter 2, Scarecrow and Dollface take Pin-Up Girl's body and drive away.
Oh, in a fit of rage, Scarecrow lays into Shelly's body with his axe, even though when camera pans to her body, there's no visible injury.
Maya takes refuge in a nearby church and Gregory shows up, who is actually Scarecrow.
After crashing Sheriff Rotter's car, Gregory bundles Maya into his pick up truck and she's taken to a sawmill, where she watches Gregory feed Shelly to a wood chipper.
Meanwhile, Maya's sister Debbie, her husband Howard and their bodyguard Marcus arrive in town.
Gregory and Jasmine force Maya to join them, but will she make the cut?
Justice=Death=Redemption
Considering how negatively the first two were received, you'd think lessons would be learned, right?
Wrong.
God only knows what film was like beforehand, but weeks of re-shoots didn't alter 90 minutes of painful boredom.
Terrible trilogies include The Hobbit (2012-2014), Fifty Shades (2015-2018) and Halloween (2018-2022), but this is among the worst.
What is essentially flashback porn meanders towards a predictable climax where Maya fools Gregory into thinking that she loves him.
As they embrace, Maya stabs him with the knife he gave her after killing Howard and Debbie.
She finishes him off with axe and departs underground lair with his mask, potentially leaving door open for more.
Please don't.
