Summary
Still grieving the death of Shiloh, Jax Hunter meets with her late sister's friend Luce to sell Shiloh's truck. Luce finds Shiloh's 'Fuck-It List' scrapbook, revealing her next thrill-seeking stop was a plank walk on the fictional Mount Kwan in Thailand, to reach a dragon statue that "eats your fears".
Although reluctant at first, Jax agrees to go through with shit to honour Shiloh's death.
The girls arrive in Bangkok at a secluded bar and a code leads to unofficial local guide Jon, who agrees to take them to the plank, but warns the mountain is known for heavy rain, earthquakes and rock slides.
Obviously all that happens, separating Jax and Luce from Jon.
With no way forward or back, stranded 4000 feet above sea level, Jax and Luce must work together to get down, or die trying.
Clip-in, clip-out
Some climbing sequences boast vertigo-inducing tension, but thinly written characters, dodgy VFX and weak performances meant I couldn't wait to get off this rock.
Shiloh's old camera footage confirms the person she's with isn't "Luce". Her real name is Billie, a huge fan of Shiloh's YouTube channel. Knowing Jax wouldn't sell her truck to a follower, she pretended to be one of Shiloh's friends.
If that was 'interesting', the final 10m is ridiculous.
After Jax manages to retrieve their backpack, she contacts Jon on the radio who rescues them.
When they cross a unstable bridge and reach the statue, Billie discovers fentanyl inside one of his oxygen tanks. Jon reveals he took them on the illegal climb to use them as unwitting drug mules.
With the traffickers en route, Billie throws the tank off the mountain and Jon repays the favour by pushing her off.
WTF?
A struggle ensues and Jon is sent through the bridge to his death.
The chopper arrives and she uses the remaining tank as a bargaining tool to be taken back to the bar for a well-deserved drink, where she opens the scrapbook to Shiloh's next target: Hell's Chasm.
Meanwhile, Becky Connor (Grace Caroline Currey in an uncredited cameo), receives an invitation to Hell's Chasm to celebrate Shiloh's life.
