The Hills Have Eyes (2006)

Alexandre Aja's brutal remake of Wes Craven's 1977 cult classic remains one of the best examples of modern horror.

The Asylum's mockbuster Hillside Cannibals starred director Leigh Scott in a dual role as Sawney Bean and David.

Whatever, shit rips off Unleashed (2005).

Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood (2019)

Known for Conan the Barbarian (1982), Red Sonja (1985) and The Advenutres of Baron Munchausen (1988), renowned Italian artist Renato Casaro was coaxed out of retirement to design numerous film-within-film posters for Quentin Tarantino's uneven ode to 1969 Los Angeles, with Mike Moh controversially portraying Bruce Lee as an arrogant prick.

Check this out.

Comanche Rising
While that's probably coincidence, Casaro got away with plagiarising an iconic work by fantasy supremo Boris Vallejo.

Satan's Baby Doll (1982) vs Vampire's Kiss (1979)

(Rolls eyes).

And.

Amateur Night (2016)
Even if this is a parody of Hills, it doesn't explain why Casaro's work in Hollywood is so similar.

Getting back on track.

Tagline

The lucky ones died first...
Became:

The lucky ones die first.
WHY?

Anyway, two films deemed it necessary to copy remake.

Mischief Night (2013)
Bastard (2015)
Big Brain

New character replaces Papa Jupiter as clan leader.
Rubber Johnny is a 2005 British experimental short film/music video produced, written, starring and directed by Chris Cunningham, featuring Aphex Twin track Afx237 v.7.

(Deep breath).

WTF?

Before being mauled to death by Beast (entirely off-screen), he orders Lizard to kill the baby.

This is how Pluto 'died' in original, but villain was magically brought back in Part II, and finally killed when Beast knocks him off a cliff.

It's breakfast time!

Please note, the following only happens in remake.

A battered Doug threatens Pluto with a scratch awl
But shit is just a ploy, and geezer seizes the opportunity to drive tool into foe's foot.
Film buffs should already be laughing.

True Romance (1993)

Alabama (who's had the shit kicked out of her too), adopts a 'similar' tactic against Virgil (albeit using a corkscrew).

The Sopranos - Amour Fou (May 2001)
Although playing out differently, Gloria grabbing a corkscrew to defend herself against Tony is surely a nod to Tony Scott's classic.
Going back to the beginning of scene.

Haunting Ground (2005)

While hide-and-chase mechanics were highly derivative of the Clock Tower series, how 18-year-old protagonist Fiona Belli¹ is seen as an object of sexual desire was deeply unsettling.

¹The same age as Rebecca Chambers in Resident Evil (1996).

Pluto vs Debilitas

At one point.

Beast attacks Pluto.
Commanding Hewie is an integral part of gameplay.

You want Fiona? I'll give you Fiona!
Eerie fact.

Like Beast, Hewie is a German Shepherd.
But this just takes the Azoth.

Doug and Pluto vs Fiona and Debilitas

UNBELIEVABLE.

Coincidence? My fucking ass.
