If this isn't variety - you're still the greatest denier! Ud 01/01/14

I return like a successful movie franchise with a sequel that will attempt to do what most movie sequels can't - supersede the original.

Like the first, it could expand faster than water when frozen.

The sequel has been in production for some time and now here it is.

You can expect further philosophy, new lists and more magnanimous oversight on subject matter you begrudgingly admire.

It will be certainly a challenge to top the previous but hope springs eternal that I can defeat the unbeatable.

It would be wrong of me to deny that things will not be revisited but hey, that's not exactly a bad thing as I'm at the helm.

This is my jungle, I intend to swing from every tree and then I'm taking a refreshing dip in my 'stable' pond.

Of course, duplication will occur when necessary but that doesn't mean that this is just a lazy remake.

Let it commence.

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is by Black Sabbath and U2 have Sunday Bloody Sunday.

Life is over-rated, The Airborne Toxic Event definitely think that Happiness is Overrated.

Justice and Legion are episodes from classic space sitcom Red Dwarf.  They’re also both films.

To achieve Perfect is what every gamer strives for when playing a one on one fighter as it's the ultimate insult and/or boast.  This is also songs by Lightning Seeds, The Smashing Pumpkins, Flyleaf and The The.

Waltzing Back is by The Cranberries and Waltzinblack is from The Stranglers.

The Airborne Toxic Event pleaded Innocence while at another trial, Stereophonics and Anberlin were found to be Innocent.

The mood in each gallery was distinctly different as the Innocence trial rumbles on…

These songs seem to be allergic to the word 'and' so instead, use the popular variation - the ampersand:

This is a minor variation on another list so this time it’s films and tunes that are just a number.

For the purposes of this list, I have stolen some from my other list.  Hey, I'm allowed - he he.

In the case of that Standard Fare song, I wonder what happened on 05 November 2007.  January 28, 1986 is a significant date for Owl City.

Ocean Colour Scene questioned how they all got So Low, Blur declared This Is a Low and Suede asked Have You Ever Been This Low?

Inside In/Inside Out is the debut album from The Kooks and Linkin Park told a song From The Inside.  Yellowcard were Inside Out.

21 is a best selling album by Adele (rightly or wrongly) and also an Ocean Colour Scene boxset to celebrate the band's 21st anniversary.

Frightened Rabbit pitched Good Arms Vs Bad Arms against The Maccabees' album Wall of Arms.  Who won is a question w/o an answer.

Half Moon, Half Light and Half Gate are songs by Iron & Wine, Athlete and Grizzly Bear respectively.

Mile End and Miles End are songs by Gomez and Pulp respectively.

SNK's elderly Vanguard  was released in 1981 is definitely the precursor to Irem's R-Type and Konami's Gradius.  Like most SNK genius, it will never be famous as others and while Irem and Gradius were counting the cash, SNK struggled to rub two pennies together.

I don't deny that flying the R-9 and Vic Viper is a fantastic experience and rightly deserves to be among the most essential shmup's of all time but did Irem and Konami admit inspiration from SNK?  Did Kawasaki and co achieve recognition for these blasters?

Sadly no and not!

Like a crooked boxing promoter, SNK would be used by all and be bled dry by over eager leeches.

The ultimate video gaming vampire is Capcom.  Unlike these fictitious Virgin addicts, no amount of sunlight or stakes through the heart will ever put Capcom in their box.

Control, Alternate and Delete (commonly abbreviated to Ctrl, Alt and Del) is qwerty combo to bring up various buttons on a computer such as Task Manager.  This simply key combination is also known as ‘hard break’ to some.

Whatever, the common abbreviation is a song by Ash.

Frightened Rabbit were Square 9, Adam & the Ants launched Apollo 9 and The Go! Team knew the time was right for Apollo Throwdown.

Bury Tomorrow must think we're tasty as Bitemarks always be left.

Lifehouse, Miley Cyrus and Interpol have a Wrecking Ball, Elbow owned a Mirror Ball and Cage the Elephant bounced their way to stardom with a Rubber Ball.

Guillemots hung The Basket and Kings of Leon kicked The Bucket.

Exile on Mainstream and Exile on Main Street are albums by Matchbox Twenty and The Rolling Stones respectively.

Uppercut is a common punch used in boxing or any other type of brawl.  Stereophonics have also performed such a move.

I’ve resurrected the same title, totally different film only this time it's:

Large, meaty and bouncy

David Bowie became Unwashed and Somewhat Slightly Dazed, Led Zeppelin and Electrasy were Dazed and Confused.

Give a Little Love and Just a Little Bit of Love are songs by Bay City Rollers and Ocean Colour Scene respectively.

Let's not get physical, but get medical:

Mika saw Dr John and The Beatles sought treatment from Doctor Robert.  The Rolling Stones began a letter with Dear Doctor and Alanis Morissette kept singing Not the Doctor.  Black Sabbath became ill so they visited the Rock 'n' Roll Doctor, The Who pointed out There's a Doctor.

I suddenly don't feel to crash hot, somebody please call The Drums as I Need a Doctor.

Anyway, if you are feeling poorly, sick or unwell, just visit We Were Promised Jetpacks and Tindersticks as they can prescribe Medicine.

Rounding if off, Primal Scream are on Medication.

Fun believed We Are Young, Keane commented You Are Young, Bowling for Soup are Only Young, Dolores O'Riordan remembered When We Were Young and You Me At Six reminisced further with When We Were Younger.

Be Your Own Pet had Fuuuuuun.

It came as No Surprise to Daughtry and Theory of a Deadman.  Radiohead were left with No Surprises and James organised a party and shouted Surprise.

My mates said to me the other day that Everybody Knows You're Insane.  Apart from being factual about my personality, they weren't shrewd and funny enough to realise they were also speaking about Queens of the Stone Age.

Dodgy are Waiting for the Sun and Linkin Park have nothing else to do so are Waiting for the End.  I'm Waiting for the Man is from The Velvet Underground.

Lostprophets, The Sounds and Bad Religion are Better off Dead and Train are Better off Alive.

A misconception is something that is commonly believed to be true either by word of mouth or in popular culture.  Many of the famous misconceptions are so apparently believable, they still exist today.

This can be in various subject matter including science, biology and cinema.

That isn't from some dictionary and is purely my take on it.

Some choose to accept, some choose to ignore and some just don't care.

Of course, there is no kind of knowledge that is not power - regardless of content (old or new).

The sun is beating down on your back so relax with a beer by the misunderstood pool.

A chameleon doesn't change colour as a form of camouflage.  The fact is that these animals are naturally camouflaged and only change colour to regulate body temperature and as a form of communication.

This also happens depending on their physical and psychological mindset.  Of course they have the ability to change colour to blend in to surroundings but mainly, it is for other reasons.

Bats aren't blind despite the expression "Blind as a bat".  Their eyesight isn't brilliant but they can definitely see.  They rely on echolocation when light fails (obviously during darkness).

Echolocation is a type of radar which is inaudible to humans and they use this to locate food.  A bat is also not a flying rodent.

I'd like to expel a popular myth that many of you may still believe is true as it's been shoved down everybody's throat and perpetuated in popular culture.

A lemming is a small rodent, it also gets extremely depressed and commits suicide en masse over rather tall cliffs.

This is still one of the most incredible misconceptions in history.  Apart from Ringo being a really good drummer….

A lemming does not commit suicide but due to cyclical population explosions, it may influence them to migrate in unfamiliar surroundings that might cause accidents such as 'falling' off cliffs and/or drowning.  So when considering that, how can that be suicide?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the whole suicide concept.

What's to blame, well only a fairly ancient nature documentary from Disney in 1958, White Wilderness.  The fact was in that the entire mythical 'suicide' sequence was faked as it was filmed in Canada and not a native habitat for lemmings as that's in the Arctic.

So I hope that's very clear.

In popular culture, this myth is naturally exploited in entertainment.

In Red Dwarf, Rimmer famously speaks of Lemming Sunday in the final episode of series 3, The Last Day.

In video games, the premise behind the Amiga classic Lemmings was inspired by White Wilderness.

An expression that people commonly use incorrectly is when people call others 'Frankenstein' as an insult towards their looks.  They are of course, actually calling them the creator and not the monster.

Ironically, Red Dwarf uses this but unlike the lemming joke, corrects itself in the episode Quarantine.

Cat insults Kryten by calling him 'Frankenstein' and the mechanoid rightly corrects his misconception.

Does this suggest that Rob Grant and Doug Naylor also believed the White Wilderness myth?  I’d like to think not.

Of course "Well at least I haven't got a face like Frankenstein's monster" doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

I'm sure the lemming myth will live on....

A duck's quack does echo, admittedly very softly due to the actual quack lasting longer than a morning fumble.

The Omen is a classic 1976 horror film directed by Richard Donner.  He went on to direct famous others such as Superman and Lethal Weapon.

It also has a very famous soundtrack and its most notable piece is Ave Satani, literally meaning Hail Satan in Latin.

This epic piece of music is O Fortuna from Carmina Burana by German composer Carl Orff.

Err, that's a negative folks and total bollocks.

In fact, the soundtrack was entirely composed by the late and great American composer Jerry Goldsmith.

He was also responsible for other compositions including Alien, Rambo, Star Trek, Total Recall and Poltergeist.

Just to show off, he also composed new music for the Universal Studio's fanfare, played during the latter's opening logo.  This was first heard and used in 1997 for inferior dinosaur sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park.

For all Goldsmith's genius, he would mainly lose out to John 'Jaws' Williams.

We needn't go in to his curriculum vitae...

The final snippit of Goldsmith  is in video games as SNK's 1981 seminal space shooter Vanguard would feature his theme to Star Trek: The Motion Picture from 1979.  It would be later used for Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Captain Pugwash has an ongoing fallacy that there was a char called Master Bates as an obvious and perhaps unnoticed sexual innuendo.  The reality is that it was Master Mate.

Okay, Mate and Bate do sound similar but just open your ears and it’s clearly Mate.

We move on faster than Usain Bolt.

Mansun were jealous of Being a Girl and the Manic Street Preachers wished they had being Born a Girl.

Katy Perry were fond of a Peacock and Paul Weller wore a Peacock Suit.

Angels & Demons is a fairly awful Tom Hanks film and reversing the coin, Demons and Angels is a Red Dwarf episode from Series 5.  Angels and Devils is a tune by Echo and the Bunnymen.

Kryten, Queeg and Camille are the only Red Dwarf episodes to be named after a character, regular or otherwise.

I don't think that The Inquisitor counts.

Mr Jones are songs by Counting Crows and Talking Heads and Mrs Jones is a song by Ocean Colour Scene.  In the OCS song, Mr Jones is mentioned and couldn't seem to help in any way.

The End is the very first episode of Red Dwarf.  It's also unique songs shared by many different artists such as The Beatles, Best Coast and The Doors.

Inside is one of many extreme French horrors and songs by Moby and Guillemots.  Guillemots and The Weekend overcame agoraphobia and went Outside.

Johnny Blade and Johnny Thunder are songs by Black Sabbath and The Kinks respectively.

Razorlight and The Coral wrote a song In The Morning and Led Zeppelin decided to pen one In the Evening.

Norah Jones said Good Morning and granted me a last request so I asked her to Say Goodbye.

Have a Nice Day is both a Bon Jovi album and song.  It’s also a Stereophonics song featured in the remake of Dawn of the Dead with Sarah Polley and Ving Rhames.

Led Zeppelin requested For Your Life, The Beatles and The Fray told everybody that when in danger to Run For Your Life.

Van Morrison had a Brown Eyed Girl and Lady Gaga has Brown Eyes (if that's literally - wow).

Atrocious is potentially an awful film.

Allow me teach to you about the power of four.

Cast were surrounded by Four Walls, Barenaked Ladies only lasted Four Seconds, Admiral Fallow changed Four Bulbs, Lightning Seeds, Bright Eyes and The Levellers felt the force of Four Winds, The Walkmen discovered Four Provinces, Counting Crows had Four Days, Led Zeppelin made a fire using Four Sticks, Wire had Four Long Years, Kings of Leon took frustration out on something with Four Kicks, The Boo Radleys met with Four Saints, The Who and The Stranglers rode out with Four Horsemen, Passenger trained Four Horses and Low made note of a Four Score.

Chapel Club planted Five Trees and Stereophonics have A Thousand Trees.

John Woo made Van Damme a Hard Target for Lance ‘Bishop’ Henriksen and Arnold ‘Imhotep’ Vosloo.  The Levellers noticed a Pretty Target.

Events in films seem to occur during the evening.

To understand:

Shark Night, Stag Night, Fright Night, Date Night, Prom Night, Hell Night and Fight Night.

Speaking of Stag Night, it suffered an awful and shameful ignominy when a film called Stag Night of the Dead was released in 2010.  It tried to hide the fact it isn't a complete and total rip off of Stag Night by shoving zombies in it.

Watch the 2008 film and if you’re feeling really desperate and I swear you’re watching virtually the same film with different actors.

Why did I waste electricity?  Well that’s because it features one of the most misleading sleeve art in DVD history as I thought it was a comedy like Shaun and his undead friends.

Stag Night isn’t the greatest film but compared to the one I’ve described – it’s God.

Sticking with appalling bad and apparently ‘unique films’ was The Condemned with Steve Austin.

It’s an incredible rip off of Japanese thriller Battle Royale but with adults instead of youngsters.

If you really wanna go even further, recent blockbuster The Hunger Games draws obvious comparisons to Battle Royale.

To think, some people still ignore foreign and/or world cinema because they have to read subtitles.

American movie The Tortured clearly rips off less known Canadian French language movie 7 Days.  All they did was swap the girl for a boy.  If you are going to watch either film, watch 7 Days over the rip-off as it's a far more intelligent film.

Oh, make sure you ignore the Saw comparison on cover sleeve as it's absolutely nothing like it.

Nobody can tell me that Friends With Benefits is practically the same subject matter as earlier causal sex flick No Strings Attached.

After Steven Sheil's excellent Mum & Dad, I was intrigued to watch his second 2012 horror feature, Dead Mine, and all I can say is what a massive fucking disappointment.

As a seasoned movie veteran, this is basically a poor rip off of The Descent and the climax even has the bollocks to steal from cult classic Predator.

Trust me, watch it and you'll understand...

The Rolling Stones and The Stone Roses Don't Stop and Red Hot Chili Peppers Can't Stop.  They've got problems.

Huuuuumaaaaannnnnnns, uuuuuurrrrrrggggghhhhhhh, fffoooooooddddd, yyyyuuuuuummmmyyyyy.

Please forgive me, I just imagined what it would be like if zombies could talk and not just practice the ultimate hangover.

There are lots of films in the public domain that feature shufflers and are preceded by 'of the Dead'.  On the other hand, many exist that don't even mention the word 'dead' but ho hum.

To explain:

Dawn, Day, Land, Night, Diary and Survival.

Quite obviously, those are the Romero ones munched over.... now for more.

War, Juan, High School, Forest, Zone, Gangs, Rise, Stag Night, Bong, Death, Armageddon, Dance, Apocalypse, Platoon, Siege, Shaun, Flight, Dorm, Shadows, Garden, Island and House.

Oasis was scared by The Shock of the Lightning, The Prodigy heard Thunder and It's Thunder and It's Lightning was observed by We Were Promised Jetpacks.

Please consider the following:

Songs can also be names of other artists and songs can also be albums by totally different artists.  Albums can also be films and songs can be associated with game settings.

This is fun as many came into being in the past and although the future can't be written, it can be total coincidence.

I've unwittingly realised that many existed in the original so consequently, new material is mixed in with the old.

So having considered what I asked you to consider, I hope you will now consider and appreciate the following:

Never fear, the innovator is here.

The Ravonettes witnessed Apparitions; the latter is also the debut album by Light Pollution.

Sticking with Light Pollution, it's also a song by Bright Eyes.

White Lies is a band and songs by The Saturdays and Girls Aloud.

Growler is both a band and Space song.

Smother is both a Wild Beasts album and track by Daughter.

Fireworks is a singles album by Embrace.  It's also a song by You Me At Six.

Tourniquet is both an artist, a great tune by Headswim and also another song by Evanescence.

Revolver can be two different types of film, a song by Rage Against the Machine and a 1966 Beatles album.

Everything Must Go is a 2010 film and a famous Manic Street Preachers album released in 1996.  The album title is also a song off the same album.

Pavement is a song by Mona and also a band.

Rapture is a huge underwater city and the setting for the Bioshock games.  It's also a band and tracks by Blondie, Arena and Deftones.

Capcom is an abbreviation of Capsule Computers and Sega was first known as Service Games.

Mirrors are a synthpop band and Turin Brakes looked in a Mirror.  Crocodiles have a song called Mirrors, Gotye multi task as they are Making Mirrors and mixing Smoke and Mirrors.

Years before, Crocodiles is also a song and album by Echo & The Bunnymen.

Low is a band, David Bowie album, Coldplay, Sleeping with Sirens and Foo Fighters song.

1234 is an album by Jeevas and also a Feist song.

1977 is a song by The Clash and also the debut album from Ash.  The Ash album refers to the year that Star Wars was released, the birth of Punk and when Tim Wheeler was born.

The Enemy is a band and a song by Dirty Pretty Things.

Four Winds is both a song by The Levellers and Lightning Seeds.  It's also an album by Lightning Seeds.

The Damned is a band and song by The Levellers.

Ada Wong is a char from Resident Evil 2, her Christian name is also a song by The National.

So that’s that, that’s all folks and that’s the end of the sequel.

Don’t be too disheartened though because here’s some news that’s better than your lucky numbers coming up.

I originally stated that the next was going to be the last but due to me being able to exploit vast amounts of material, I feel there's even more in the tank.

Until our paths are crossed again…

Thanks!
