Street Fighter in Popular Culture

I begin with something that deserves more recognition.

8-Bit Zombie

Issue 1 is a batshit take on Wreck-It Ralph with DigiZombies causing carnage.

Anyway, the whole point is Office Fighter 2 on the Geo Neo.

16-Bit Zombie

A kid can't believe his luck when he finds cartridge inside Stop Games' bargain bin.

These new 16-bit Geo Neo games cost between two hundred and five hundred bucks each! Especially Office Fighter 2! The only way my friends can play those games is at the arcade!
Hilarious.

Dee Dee introduces Zilla to secret boss M. Bossin'.
Player Select appears to be based on The New Challengers.

'Gameplay'

Things turn ugly when Super Ultimate Ex4 Death Battle Mode! kicks in.
Story continues in 32-Bit and concludes with 64-Bit.

Film

Champion Edition arcade cabinets proved most popular.

HA HA HA!

Wreck-It Ralph

Ryu and Ken go for a drink at Tapper's.
Bad-Anon is a support group for video game villains.
M. Bison obviously makes sense, but I'm confused why Zangief is here.
Also, Cammy and Chun-Li can be seen strolling around Game Central Station.

Sheng Long Was Here
You must defeat Ryu's mistranslated victory quote to stand a chance.

I gave him those bracelets for his birthday...

Blanka's ending

"Jimmy...? Are you my long lost son, Jimmy?"

"Who are you? Why would I be your son? My name's Blanka."

"My son was lost in an airplane crash over Brazil when he was only a little boy."

"Wait! That anklet... I gave that to you on your birthday!"

Tributes

Chun-Li tells us a little known fact about herself.

I'm the strongest woman in the world.
Ahem.

Quote is probably a nod to 1975 Disney comedy The Strongest Man in the World.

For shiggles.

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
I'm the strongest puzzle fighter in the world!
A few more.

Aero Fighters aka Sonic Wings
I am the strongest fighting machine in the world.
I believe you Johnny 5, sorry Tee Bee.

Dinosaurs for Hire

Satirical comic series ran for nine issues between March 1988 and January 1990.

Despite its cancellation, Sega released a Contra wannabe for the Mega Drive in 1993.

Lorenzo likes Chun-Li and dislikes Ryu and Ken.

Reese's favourite saying, Part III:

I'm the strongest dino in the world!

Archie's profile isn't relevant to subject matter, but favourite saying, Part II - Is it cold in here, or is it just me? confirms Sega were fans of Demolition Man.

Mirror match

The ability to choose the same character debuted in the arcade version of Champion Edition.
Via a code, the Super Famicom port of The World Warrior (together with subsequent North American and European releases), used the same alternative colour palette for second player (also extending to unplayable bosses).

Anyway, check this out.

Samurai Shodown
Haohmaru gets the same treatment as Ryu.
