Film Mistakes - Slide 2

Miscellany

Backwoods
Gwen Marie Holden and Tom Alan Smithee have been missing since February 30.
Month never counts that amount of days, not even during a leap year.
Back to the Future
Marty frantically looks up Doc in 1955, who is listed as Emmet.
Curious, because in 1985, he's called Emmett.
Great Scott!
Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh
Article constantly repeats leaving many witnesses puzzeled.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
James Buchanan 'Bucky' Barnes was born in 1916.
Yet at the bottom, we're told 1917.
Contracted
August 30, 2013 fell on a Friday, not Monday.
Cradle of Fear
The Chief Pychiatrist at Fenham Asylum is Dr. S. Ross.
I'll stick to places which employ psychiatrists.
Escape Plan 2: Hades
Shoddy direct-to-video sequel takes place in Bangkok, hence on-screen subtitles.
"I'm glad your're here."
What a load of Breslin.
Escape Room (2019)
Geezer advises to download Karate Kid.
I know we like to narrow titles down, but he's referring to The Karate Kid (1984), not unnecessary Jackie Chan remake of same name.
Heavy Metal
Nazareth is misspelled as Nazarath.
Mikey
Is it plice or police?
That is the question.
Planet of the Apes (2001)
In the year 2100, November evolved into a 31 day month.
Date format is British, but should be American.
Rambo: Last Blood
Former Green Beret was born July 6 1947 (as confirmed by Murdock in First Blood Part II).
Despite existing in the same continuity, driver license states 12/04/50 or December 4 1950.
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?
Ready Player One
Theatre is the British spelling, but should be Theater.
Rumble in the Bronx
Danny is smashing a Game Gear, with no cartridge.
Unfortunately, we don't see what he's 'playing'.

Date format of Earl's passport is British, but he's American.
Silent Night, Deadly Night 4: Initiation
Police have not ruled out foul play and the investigation will contine.
The search for a dictionary didn't continue.

Richards and co face off against Subzero, yet makeshift bookie is taking bets on Zubzero.
Thrillkill
Bank of Commerece and Independant Bankers indicates computer is corrupted.

September 3 2014 fell on a Wednesday, not Thursday.
Underwater
Blueprints feature boyancy compenasators.
I'm sure compensators would be more useful.

Film is set in Hungary, but date format is British.
Vamp
crew member's hand holds up fake arm.
Multiples

Naked Gun 33 ⅓: The Final Insult

Amelia Earhart was an American aviator, making this is a right pain in the Earhardt.
Jurassic Park parody Geriatric Park boasts Seisure World.
Best move on before I have a seizure.
Max Payne

No matter how it's dressed up, 30106 as a date makes absolutely no sense.
Natasha Sax's Place of Occurance should be Occurrence.
Misery

Photograph's caption reads: "There is a higher justice than that of man."
Etc etc.
Close-up begs to differ.

"There is a justice higher than that of man."
Dirty birdy.

Mac hangs on to his snow covered bottle of J&B.
When given to Bennings.

Breaking news.

The above becomes 'identical' twin John.

Just before Bruce removes his mask for Selina.

Make-up is gone.

Check out picture

That's the oldest 42-year-old I've ever seen.
Going back to my original point.

CEnd credits list Glenn Close's bunny boiler as Alex Forrest.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day

T-1000's head is split open before Arnie squeezes the trigger.
Villain smashes its way inside helicopter.

But.

Windscreen has self-repaired.
Commando

Same thing, different vehicle.

After Matrix let's Sully go, Porsche is badly damaged on one side.
Guess what?

As Matrix and Cindy drive away, it's fine.
Aeropuetro is an incorrect spelling of Aeropuerto.
The Black String

"The Other Side", while a common trope is an intirely real and dangerous place, a place of unimaginable horror. To summon evil, the witches must destory innocence.
I'm not entirely convinced and I must destroy guilt.

Once the seed is planted, you will be constantly monitered by the witch-cult like a farmer carefully watching his crop.
Spell checker should've been monitored instead.

The last and most desperate method of saving your soul is to take the the life or lives of the witch-cult that has targeted you.
Not that it's relevant, but The The is a real band.

Once you have (blah blah), victims feel lethargic overcome with uncontrolable fits.
Error was apparently uncontrollable.

Cape Fear (1991)

Lori's blouse in Martin Scorsese's remake is magic.

Undone.
She does it up and undoes it.
Problems begin.

Done up.
Undone, without undoing.
Final Score

Dave Bautista's pint has a huge head.
When barmaid hands over tasty beverage, it's as flat as a fart.
Danni's mobile number is 07843 282822.
On the National Criminal Database, it's 07493 144 563.
Shit isn't even close.

HA HA HA!

Also, final six numbers is split into two lots of three.

Hard to Kill

While Steven Seagal's Mason Storm is still in a coma, he's looked after by Kelly LeBrock's nurse Andy.

There's something very odd about hospital's clock.

Andy says to Martha "It's 6am", but it's only 5.50am.
Then it's 5.55am.
Now 7.30am.
Mixing it up.

A different clock states 6.50am, so we've gone backwards.
Back to black, it's 7.50am.
Until next time.

The Last of Us - Episode 5

Endure and Survive

Written by Craig Mazin
Directed by Jeremy Webb

Kathleen's people have taken control of Kansas City.

10 days later.

Henry (Lamar Johnson) agrees to help Joel and Ellie escape via tunnel system.

We learn Henry gave up Kathleen's brother Michael to FEDRA for Sam's medicine, hence why she's rather pissed at him.

After the resistance shows up, Kathleen is poised to exact revenge.

But a crashed vehicle sinks into the ground, giving licence for Infected to run amok.

Perry's head is ripped off by a Bloater and girl Clicker cooks Kathleen's goose.

At a motel, Sam (Keivonn Woodard) reveals bite mark and Ellie smearing her blood on wound cannot prevent him from turning.

Henry executes sibling and turns the gun on himself.

Joel and Ellie bury bodies and head west.

The monster inside

Will I miss Kathleen? Not at all, as she was awful.

One of the key changes is making Sam deaf and his Savage Starlight relationship with Ellie was quite touching.

Shit hits the fan in the last quarter and sequence briefly kicked ass.

For those who care, Adam Basil's Bloater suit cost $500,000 to make and was designed by Barrie Gower.

Even if Ellie's inability to cure an infected person isn't revisited later on, it adds another dimension to character.

Knock at the Cabin - The scoop and digest

M. Night Shyamalan adapts Paul Tremblay's novel The Cabin at the End of the World.

Dave Bautista - Leonard
Jonathan Groff - Eric
Ben Aldridge - Andrew
Nikki Amuka-Bird - Sabrina
Kristen Cui - Wen
Abby Quinn - Adriane
Rupert Grint - Redmond

Summary

Eric and Andrew are on vacation with their young daughter Wen at a remote cabin in rural Pennsylvania.

Four mysterious strangers (Leonard, Sabrina, Adriane and Redmond) force entry.

Leonard explains his group have collectively foreseen an impending apocalypse, and the only to prevent it is for somebody in the family to bite the dust.

Is he batshit crazy or telling the truth?

That's left for us to ponder.

Sacrifice love

Not great by means, but Twilight Zone-esque mystery is one of director's best.

Bautista gives a stellar performance and others are not overawed by mountain of muscle.

Cinematography for the most part is stunning and props for delivering tension and paranoia.

However, screenplay spews exposition and only the Four Horsemen benefit from any kind of characterisation.

Although flashbacks reveal why family were chosen, it's unnecessarily drawn out.

Inevitably, Hollywood fucked with final act.

Wen doesn't die and Andrew kills Eric.  They drive to a nearby diner and news confirms that disasters (plagues) have subsided.

In the book, Andrew and Eric take Wen's body to Redmond's car and pledge to stay together no matter what, leaving it ambiguous if the apocalypse has been averted.

Just leave shit alone already.

The Last of Us - Episode 4

Please Hold to My Hand

Written by Craig Mazin
Directed by Jeremy Webb

The ruins of Kansas City (changed from Pittsburgh) block Joel and Ellie's epic journey to Wyoming.

After surviving an ambush, Joel shows no mercy to a guy called Bryan.

When original character Kathleen (Melanie Lynskey) finds geezer dead, resistance leader orders for those responsible to be found and killed.

Joel and Ellie take refuge inside an apartment block and awake to Henry and Sam holding them at gunpoint.

No pun intended

There's not much to say.

It's watchable enough, but sandwich filler needed to be longer than 45 minutes.

Was it really necessary to play out Ellie finding Bill's gay jazz mag?

Hmmm.

From weak dialogue delivery to non-threatening presence, initial impressions of Kathleen were not good.

Joel reacting to Ellie's selection of rubbish jokes (lifted directly from game and DLC), proved to be an unlikely ally.

Bloaters have been teased and should hopefully inject some much needed action.

Asset Plagiarism - Second Theft

Expect no rules.

Amityville: The Awakening vs The Possession Experiment

And yeah, Wings of Fury meets Defender nicked writing too.

The Shadow of Yseribus vs Eye - M. C. Escher

Contrive - Slow Dissolve vs Split-Face - The Thing - 1982

Peter Pan - 2007 vs Destiny Islands - Kingdom Hearts

Did they really think placing goofy protagonist in front of scenery would fool us?

Apparently so.

Phalanx - SNES (North America) vs X-Wing - Star Wars

For the first time, attention is diverted away from hillbilly strumming banjo.

Who knows, maybe he's secretly at one with the Force?

The G.G. Shinobi vs Sue Shiomi - Sister Street Fighter

Greg Winters did the same with Blaze in Streets of Rage.

New York Warriors vs Escape from New York

Mr. Do! - SNES (North America and Europe) vs The Real Ghostbusters - arcade flyer
