Resident Evil - 2022 TV series

Welcome to Raccoon City was notoriously BAD.

Surely unrelated effort is a marked improvement, right?

Tamara Smart (2022) and Ella Balinska (2036) - Jade Wesker
Siena Aqudong (2022) and Adeline Rudolph (2036) - Billie Wesker
Lance Reddick - Dr. Albert Wesker
Paola Núñez - Evelyn Marcus
Turlough Convery - Richard Baxter

Summary

Using games as a backdrop, story relentlessly jumps between two narratives.

2022
Three months before The End

In New Raccoon City, 14-year-old teenagers Jade and Billie Wesker are struggling to adapt to a very weird place.

Meanwhile, their father Albert has developed Joy, an anti-depressant that lowers anxiety and increases focus.

The downside of 'miracle pill' is that it contains a derivative of the T-virus.

Super bitch Umbrella CEO Evelyn Marcus (daughter of the late James Marcus), is only interested in making a fast buck and pressures 'Al' to modify drug to influence people's behaviour.

2036
Fourteen years after The End

Jade studies and flees from Zeroes (don't mention zombies).

Reuniting with daughter Bea and hubby Arjun in Calais won't be easy, especially since Umbrella has made lady pants their number one target.

Biohazard

Whiffing of The Last of Us (Scavengers are basically Fireflies) and occasionally Alice films (in terms of action), script, performances, characters, music and humour are spectacularly profligate.

Of the young Jade and Billie - I fucking hated those unpleasant bitches.

Adult versions? Tolerable (sort of).

Premise doesn't belong to universe and why can't anybody make live-action scary?

Bestiary and CG surprisingly impresses.

Dogs, lickers, spider, giant alligator (erroneously crocodile in dialogue), Lisa Trevor (complete with William Birkin eye) and at last - the original Tyrant (which survives explosion at laboratory).

Although pointless, caterpillar surely refs Grave Digger and/or Gulp Worm.

Evelyn is married to Diana and much is made about Billie being a vegan.

Guess they had woke boxes to tick.

As things progress, we're hit by a tsunami of bullshit.

In Episode 4, Baxter announcing he's the 'master of unlocking' is cringing.  But what really made me laugh was idiot using a Red9 to take out a skinny Dr. Salvador with one shot.

It's just so DUMB.

How is Wesker still alive?

Episode 7 reveals all.

At Arklay Mountains in 2005, the original Wesker briefly makes an appearance.

Err, who does he look like?

Later in 2022, Uncle Bert explains 'Blade Wesker' created multiple clones of himself for R&D team and later died in a volcano (RE 5).

That's who.

Seriously, what the fuck?

HA HA HA!

Evelyn explains clones age rapidly and from birth, become 20 years old in less than 6 months.

On fingers on thumbs, that's just over 3 years per month.

This is why he regularly injects Billie and Jade's blood to stem ageing process.

Bert, Jade and Billie escape NRC and a note states Ada Wong lives in Japan.

Update.

On 27 August, Netflix announced show's cancellation.

I'll get over it.
