A marvellous assortment of links with ice cube hi-jinks

Top of whatever part of the day it is to you all.

You remember many moons ago that I started using links in features of variety?

Of course you do and thanks for all your interest in those.

I was going to continue using these but instead chose to store as I didn’t want to stereotype myself as a link machine.

After a huge amount of varieties later, I am now exploding with a plethora of more of the same.

Audio, vision and an open mind is needed to appreciate much and most so please be my guest to enter the ultimate video information guide.

Music, video games, films, cock ups, funnies and so much more crazy shit is all here for you to digest.

There is no knowledge that is not power.

Like all my features, this is 100 per cent original.

Youtube is the only resource I’m guilty of using and I haven’t once relied on either a forum or asked Google for help...

It will range from the famous, the downright obscure and things that are just so fantastic, it can’t be anything more than incredulous.

There are many video game rip offs I will feature that may have either been forgotten or not even realised.

This is my purely my opinion, I take no credit for the creation of any video and kudos goes to those who took the time to make these available.

However, I do take credit for description and the way I’ve been able to chain stuff together.

For your convenience, I have listed all the time prompts so you won’t miss a thing.

This is one man, speaking for the world.

If the videos are no longer available, this is something I obviously have no control over.

I hope each cube will be bacon for breakfast, beans on toast for dinner, chicken chow mein for tea or cereal for supper.

This particular cube has been left on the side and we'll see how long it will take to melt.

Turn on the concentration button and charge that attention battery because here we go.

Listen to a very brief gun sound bite from the classic 1989 Amiga game Shadow of the Beast at any point during this level.

Now the pulse rifle sound from the 1986 Cameron classic Aliens.

R-Type Delta ending music drums is clearly nicked from the theme of 2001 (17m 23s to 17m 29s)

Same thing with Aicom’s Pulstar - 1m 8s to 1m 15s

Then listen to 2001 theme from 14s until 19s.

Here is an awful voice fuck up from the brilliant Gradius V on PS2, largely developed by Treasure.

Listen at 7m 44s when the text flashes up with “I guess I’ve got no choice”

Err, the ‘speech’ clearly states at 7m 46s-47s “I guess I have no choice.”

This is surely a famous piece of spoken Engrish from Magneto in the classic 1992 X-Men arcade.

It’s amazing that Konami just allowed it as it’s impossible not to notice.

We continue the trend with Konami’s Bucky O’Hare.  Here’s the vid.

You can expect the speech to be different from the text.

The intro ‘bucks’ the trend from 45s to 1m 05s.

Listen as it makes up various words including ‘the’, ‘mysterious’, ‘space pirate’, ‘baboon’ and ‘genius’...

Continue to 8m 34s with ‘a’ instead of ‘the’.

However, Taito’s 1987 lightgun monster Operation Wolf tops it all as this game frequently forgets and fucks up.

Just follow my prompts.

It starts almost immediately from 1m to 1m05s.

What happened to ‘rescue hostages’?

Between 2m 24s and 2m 30s, what happened to ‘and’?

Then Taito decide to make it up so listen from 7m 07s to 7m 10s.

Where did ‘damages’ come from?

Listen very carefully from 8m 34s to 8m 40s, I shall make you aware of this only once.

It really does say “The raid on the powdered magazine was successful.”

I needn’t quote what it really should say...

We’re nearly there now as at 13m 42s to 13m 44s they just miss out ‘a’.

This is an odd choice by Konami and defies explanation.  This is the vid for The Simpsons Arcade

At the end of Stage 3, you have to fight some bouncers from Moe’s Tavern.

At 12m 58s they clearly state “Where do you think you’re going?”  That’s obviously fine.

Later on though at 39m 20s, the end boss Mr Burns spouts the same shit, in exactly the same voice and does so after each robotic change.

Weird!

Listen to the music in Denaris from 6m 30 to 7m 45s.  Let’s not get into why it’s called Katakis in this vid and not Denaris as I’ve already been through that.

Anyway, this is the theme from 80s action flick The Delta Force starring Chuck Norris and Lee Marvin.

Hmm…. stolen or coincidence?

Here’s a very funny graphical cock up in the brilliant Uncharted 3 of all things.  Forward until 2m 3s.

So Drake’s face really is made of rubber.

Watch a boss from Konami’s Pardoius on the SNES at various points from 17m 17s to 17m 42s and how it ‘shoots’ its only attack....

That is just wrong on all levels.

This is The Turning by the thieving machine that is Oasis.

Listen to Cliff Richard’s Devil Woman.

Fighter’s History by Data East is famous for ripping off Capcom’s Street Fighter II.

Data East got away with it as they claimed the chars are based on Chinese and Japanese cultural mythology.

This is amusing lip sync from SNK’s Cyber-Lip.  It happens throughout so here’s a taste from 32s to 42s

It seems that SNK were not just bad at English translation….

The sumo headbutt or as some call it, sumo torpedo is a very famous special move performed by E Honda in Capcom’s ground breaking Street Fighter II.

We all know what happens after holding back for two seconds, forward and punch…

Before you turn on the originality tap, have a look at this vid from Konami’s 1985 classic, Yie ar Kung-Fu and Buchu’s special attack…

I’m sorry but Capcom clearly ripped it off.

This is a lame boss from SNK’s Cyber-Lip at 11m 10s to 12s.

Watch the second boss from Irem’s classic R-Type at 4m 21s until 4m 24s

Notice the very similar accepting effect from the tubes.

Then watch a similar death scene from Palace’s Barbarian II at 3m 08s to 3m 18s.

That’s cool but original?

To find out, watch what happens when you get devoured by a hungry worm in Beyond the Forbidden Forest on C64.  Squirm during 28s to 35s

Apart from one missing blood, the only difference is that the bow and skull is spat out respectively.

Palace is surely cowering behind the couch...

This one deserves a mention.

Listen to the tune of Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up from 10s to 29s.

Then Robo’s theme from Square classic Chrono Trigger on SNES from 8s to 20s

It’s one of those where you ‘hear’ it but it’s not exactly the same as it tails off and becomes quite different.

Watch the surprisingly decent Universal Soldier Regeneration boom scene from 12m 54s to 13m 05s.

Poor old Lance gets blown up in John Woo’s Hard Target at 2m 45s to 3m

Why do they feel the need just to watch an inevitable death?  Both could have prevented such a mess.

This is possibly one of the most blatant rips ever and what’s more amazing, is that Oasis actually went through with it.

Anyway, it’s Shakermaker

This is How to Teach the World to Sing (In Perfect Harmony) performed by The New Seekers

It’s unbelievable.

Don’t worry Oasis, you’re not quite alone…

Listen to Gwen Stefani’s Rich Girl.

Then take a listen to If I Were a Rich Man from the 1964 musical Fiddler on the Roof.

I don’t know what’s worse?

This is Sega’s 1991 Sonic the Hedgehog. Listen from 1s to 3s

Then the Megadrive version of Jurassic park (2s to 3s)

Now out of the two, which is more appropriate and which is more ridiculous?

Easy!

Capcom are apparently the masters of all they survey.  Well even these ‘masters’ made a fuck up that is legendary (to me at least).

Watch Ken’s stage anywhere between 2m to 3m 12s to get the idea…

How can something (in this case, the boat) bob up and down when the substance that is supposed to be making it move is just coloured concrete?

Despite all the endless updates, they never did sort out this bizarre misunderstanding of kinetics….

This is a great example of Capcom partly stealing from SNK.

Watch El Fuerte’s Ultra 1 from Super Street Fighter IV.

Then Tizoc’s super from Garou: Mark of the Wolves, from 6m 20s to 21s.

The point to the sky and the light show is the deal breaker.

This is a nice one.  Listen to this piece of music from Chrono Trigger (up until 44s).

Then, Pink Floyd’s The Trial from The Wall (over the lyrics) from 20s to about 1m 20s.

At this stage in Chrono Trigger, you are actually on ‘trial’ which makes it total coincidence or...

In Visco’s Aero Fighters 3, listen to this sound and appreciate where it came from.  It starts and ends at 11m 50s

It’s a screaming cat in ape’s clothing.

Sega’s Shinobi from way back in 1987 was great.  Watch Spiderman make an appearance at 54s to 56s….

Then during a bonus stage, watch dancing fans and a now famous perfect 2m 6s to 13s.  It seems you shouldn’t always associate perfect with Street Fighter…

Using the same vid, have a look at boss Black Turtle from 4m 10s, (especially from 4m 24s to 27s).

How odd that the rotary blade is static, as when going down, logic suggests it should still be moving…

Ha ha!

This next bit is truly insane.  This is a gameplay vid of system 3’s Flimbo’s Quest on C64.

Listen to sound nibble on items appearing when an enemy is killed (throughout)….

I suggest a clearer hearing at 1m 56s.

Then hear Konami’s Axelay on SNES with the sound when starting the game (2m 13 to 15s)

They don’t sound really alike but wait a minute.

What about comparing Flimbo’s sound to the very odd KXX’s King of Demons (also on SNES) at 2m 30s, and then almost immediately after, compare the other sound to Axelay at 2m 33s.

I may have a screw loose but I think the Flimbo sound is near identical and the Axelay nibble just has a slightly different pitch.

Have all three vids open and make up your own mind as to if I need that screw of mine tightening?

Here’s another and this one is difficult to argue against…

Have a listen to the morphing sound used in Aicom’s 1995 Neo Geo shmup Pulstar, first heard at 4m 28 to 4m 31s.

Then listen from 1m 53s to 1m 56s for a strange ‘door appearing’ sound in Konami’s 1992 arcade of Bucky ‘o Hare.

Bonkers!

This is the sound of hitting a chest in Capcom’s Super Ghouls ‘n’ Ghosts on the SNES at 1m 35s and obviously, anytime throughout.

Then take a chomp of this sound of destroying an enemy in Taito’s Cadash from 3m 44s to 48s (obviously anytime after).

Watch the credits to Konami’s very strange Devil World from 19m 15s until its conclusion.

Why does some of the writing go behind the graphics?

That brings us nicely to end of this set as the ice cube has finally evaporated.

The next will feature more excitement than an unopened bag of Revels.

Paranormal Activity 4 - The scoop and digest

This doesn't break the familiar chain of the previous films.

Reluctant newcomers should enjoy and veterans will answer whatever questions the former have.

Regardless of the audience, we'll ponder as to what may happen next.

If it ain't broke, there is little point in trying to fix a functional limb, right?

Plot details and/or spoilers will be caught on camera.

Those who are party to such activity include:

Kathryn Newton - Alex

Bradie Allen - Robbie
Matt Shively - Ben
Stephen Dunham - Doug
Alexondra Lee - Holly
Aiden Lovekamp - Wyatt
Katie Featherston - Katie

We are reminded of events in PA 2 and that Katie and Hunter's whereabouts remain unknown.

It's not 28 Days Later but five years later...

Like the rest, there isn't particularly a story, but day to night transitions combine frivolity with much malevolence.

I'll take you through what will taste juicier than a prime fillet steak.

The mother allows a young boy called Robbie to stay while his mother is taken to hospital, and for reasons unknown, she was subsequently set for self destruct by you, for reasons unknown.

Not for reasons unknown, I told you, that I set down here on company orders not to quote the script from Aliens...

Sorry, will that reason become known?

Whatever, it's a big mistake.

So the family with a big heart take this young waif in.

The boring is necessary, but let's proceed to the exciting and increasingly nasty.

Events occur both during the night and day.  Daylight can be just as interesting as when the sun goes to sleep.

The night will go bump and things will go crash, bang and add the required wallop.

Not too long after Robbie moves in, Kinect and infra red tracking provide disturbing results.

We see a strange image of 'something' apparently sitting next to Robbie.

Ben has web chats regularly with girlfriend Alex and sets up similar equipment strewn around the house after that weird image is revealed.

Thereafter, that's when the fun starts for the audience, but for those involved, begins a supernatural nightmare.

In no particular order, things are going to get hairier than Boris the Spider.

We see a dining room chair move by itself and in the same breath, a child's bike moves equally unmanned.

Both kids get up during the night and chat to Carol Anne in the television (okay I made up the Poltergeist bit).

Robbie confuses Wyatt's back with a canvas and paints a strange symbol on his back.

It is also revealed that the same thing was drawn in the sandpit.

After some good old-fashioned Googling, it seems to be part of an old cult.  Fans will recall that it was first introduced in PA 3 with the witches and demonology angle.

Instead of a trail of breadcrumbs, Robbie leaves a trail of toys leading to a small room and it looks like he's decided to follow Mick Dundee's lead and sleep on the floor.

What would shit anybody up is a chandelier falling and nearly killing you.  Doug blames it on cowboy fitters but Alex blames Robbie.

He certainly is a strange little sod and has more menace than a hungry crocodile.

A chopping knife disappears for mother and reappears for father.

Katie is found at the 'deserted' home and hereafter, Wyatt seems to doubt that he's really Wyatt as during that brief meeting with crazy Katie, she tells him that he was adopted like Robbie...

Could Wyatt be really Hunter?

Well Katie certainly gets him thinking.

Before events come to a head, other interesting scenes include Wyatt been forced to practice holding his breath in a bath tub and Alex blissfully unaware that she can actually levitate.

The deal breaker for poor Alex is when a car starts in the garage for no apparent reason and makes the air that she breathes a tad suffocating.

Oh, the car radio wasn't playing The Hollies.

Taking evasive action, she saves her own life by forcing her way in via a golf club and smashes this Christine type through the garage door.

The climax and excitement in full.

Katie sneaks upstairs unbeknownst to Holly and calls for Hunter.

Holly feels an unwelcome breath and the entity takes her for a fatal rollercoaster of a ride.

She descends and drags Holly off screen to an unknown place.

Ben lets himself in and ascends upstairs to Alex's room.  He tries to access video footage on her laptop but Katie is behind to prove he's no owl.

She drags the awful bird of prey impersonator into the closet.  She ticks the next box on her mission by finding Wyatt and convincing him that he is Hunter.

Alex and Doug arrive home after enjoying a meal and father mistakes Katie for Holly carrying Wyatt across the way.

Father chooses to follow 'mother' and Alex decides to explore their home.

I hope she gave him a final kiss goodbye....

Alex calls Ben and unfortunately, his phone is heard very close by and naturally she goes to investigate.

Suffice to say, the closet makes her feel very unwelcome and swiftly prevents access.

There's a force in there and it's not from nature.

It's all a bit much for her, or indeed for anybody and it's time to check out.

Panicking, she runs across to the house that will cure her sanity and place her at ease.

Yeah if that's right, then James Bond goes through less changes than Doctor Who.

Dad is clearly in a bit of bother and we see an unseen force showing him around the house...

After a fruitless chase, here's Katie.

She's stationary at first but then charges her like a woman possessed with a nasty demonic visage.

Alex manages to thwart her using a blinding invention known as a door.

She escapes via a window and stumbles upon Wyatt.

Despite her pleas for him to come with her, he's more reluctant to obey than a malteser is been the heavier way to enjoy chocolate.

She observes a large crowd of Katie's blankly faced friends and Katie embarrassing a rhino charges again before the camera runs out of battery and that's it for another absorbing and entertaining instalment.

I conclude that Robbie is a red herring and is sent by Katie to achieve the capture of Wyatt who is presumably needed to complete the ritual and/or sacrifice.

Will the next feature Hunter as an adult and will this highly successful franchise finally conclude?

Hmmm, that depends but it will probably go on an ill-advised Saw marathon.

Directors Henry Joost and Areil Schulman play it safer then ten men behind the ball protecting a slender lead in the final minute of stoppage time.

Do they pay for such negativity?

No sirree as it's the best yet.

Be under no illusion, changing the tried and tested formula that keeps fans flocking like migrating geese is sensibly resisted.

There's nothing that you haven't seen before in previous efforts but the variety of events ensures it serves up very effective entertainment.

I know where events will pick up in the inevitable fifth but until my crystal ball is fixed, events remain inconclusive.

This cannot and should not be compared to Sinister as unlike that creep fest, it's designed to push jump instead of to make skin crawl.

I personally prefer the latter emotion any day of the week, month or year.

Whatever, I'll definitely be there to pick the bones out of the next...

As a final thought, I wonder how much Microsoft paid to have Kinect advertised?

I'll bet my last toe nail clipping that it was more than Nintendo or Sony....

Looper - The scoop and digest

This is a thrilling and fairly intelligent sci-fi action film.

As you may expect, it begins confusing but then eventually, everything becomes more transparent than a clean window.

Plot details and/or spoilers will be sent from the future.

Those interested in earning several bars include:

Joesph Gordon-Levitt – Joe
Bruce Willis – Joe (30 years hence)
Jeff Daniels - Abe
Emily Blunt – Sara
Paul Dano – Seth
Pierce Gagnon – Cid
Noah Segan – Kid Blue

The year is 2044.  Time travel hasn’t been invented yet, but it will, and in 30 years time it will be exploited by criminals to send those who they want killed from the future to the past.

Doc Brown would condemn and frown at such illicit use.

They are sent unceremoniously gagged and bagged and specialised assassins known as ‘loopers’ do the necessary.

For their troubles, they are rewarded with silver bars strapped to the victims back.

What are the implications of encountering your future self?

Well in Back to the Future Part II, the consequences could be disastrous.

Before we go any further, essential equipment needed for such an assassination are blunderbuss and a vintage pocket watch.

It is literally killing time.

The unfortunate materialises on a weighted blanket and is swiftly blown away.  A body is disposed of by way of incineration.

Joe is the primary protagonist and is employed as a looper by crime boss Abe who has been sent from the future to manage such activities.

He owns a club that Joe regularly frequents and spends time with his favourite showgirl.  We also see him ‘dropping’ a substance into his eyes which is the chosen narcotic in Johnson’s vision.

Our man Joe is openly described as a junkie.

A mutation has also affected a small percentage of the population of Kansas giving the benefit of limited telekinesis.

Carrie would scoff but levitating small objects is a proud chat up line.

This ability is abbreviated as TK without the Max.

We quickly learn that Abe has hired his own self-styled muscle known as the ‘Gat Men’ and among these is the cocky Kid Blue who is desperate to prove himself to his employer.

Kid Blue brags that a gat is far better than a looper’s signature weapon as a blunderbuss is only deadly within 15 yards.

A gat is obviously not so hampered.

‘Closing the loop’ basically means that when a crime boss wants to terminate a looper’s contract, they send their older self from the future to be killed by their younger self.

That puts a new angle on the expression ‘out with the old’.

The difference is that the reward is a more valuable gold bar instead of the regular silver variety.

Anyway, Seth visits pal Joe who reveals that he’s made the mistake of failing to close his own loop and allowed his future self to escape.

This is not a smart move as the punishment for such stupidity is permanent.

Joe is also informed of the Rainmaker, a mysterious crime boss that has muscled in on organised crime in the future and intends to close all loops.

The baddies learn of this hesitation and after capturing Seth, deprive him of body parts.

Such dismemberment is transferred to his older self.  His fate is sealed because a written scar tells him to go to a location but is blissfully unaware that the Grim Reaper in the form of Kid Blue is waiting to slam death’s door firmly in his face.

The effect of his older self literally falling apart is pretty smart.

Things really kick off when Bruce Willis shows up without a bag and when he notices its not the usual easy pay day, it prompts a different outcome.

Joe does attempt to close the loop but is foiled by the quick thinking of his future self and is knocked out.

How Willis appears without a bag and what happens after Joe is knocked spark out is one of several moments that initially doesn't make sense but is explained later.

The future emerging in the past is achieved by stepping inside a small spherical container.

We only see this time device when Willis transports himself.

After young and old Joe meet up and chew the fat in a café, the Gat Men interrupt this little party.

Old Joe takes care of such irritations and Joe steals a piece of paper from Old Joe that leads him to a farmhouse where we meet Sara and son Cid.

Sara is obviously reluctant to welcome Joe and dubious to believe his ramblings about the Rainmaker.

At first, she thinks he’s just another vagrant.

Charming!

After more horsing around, they are attacked by another of Abe’s henchmen but the cherubic faced Cid unleashes a telekinetic blast that causes furniture to float and blood to spill.

Old Joe is inconveniently captured by Kid Blue but you can’t cage a bird whose feathers are just too bright as the old timer escapes to take out Abe and his Gat gang.

However, Kid Blue is still at large.

In close pursuit, Kid Blue appears on his jet bike and Joe attempts to shoot him but remember how useless a blunderbuss is beyond 15 yards?

With a smart head on his shoulders, he improvises by shooting the road thus creating a dust cloud.

Suffice to say, he is no longer a danger…

Old Joe makes one final effort to kill Cid but is thwarted again on two occasions.

The first is from another mind discharge from Cid and then the inconvenience of Sara acting as a human shield to protect her son.

Younger Joe is in close attendance and concludes that if his older self kills Sara, Cid will probably become the Rainmaker.

After all, he’s already pretty deadly as Sara’s sister unfortunately found out…

So he decides to kill himself that will automatically erase his future self from existence and save them both.

This is a welcome variation on such a fascinating concept.

It’s one of those that ventures here, there, backwards, forwards and every which way you can.

The blood is sometimes frequent, as is the language and therefore merits its 15 certificate.

Special effects are great and there’s enough technology to keep fans of The Gadget Show happy.

The computer that Willis uses and the irrigation robot are worthy highlights.

There’s enough action and gunplay to keep things exciting and performances are more than acceptable, especially from the leading roles.

Support also serves up a fairly tasty meal and the young Pierce Gagnon is impressive as the troubled Cid.

Back to the Future is king and although incomparable, another is the entertaining Van Damme and Ron Silver action vehicle Timecop.

If I had a slight criticism, Rian Johnson’s effort tries to be a bit too big for its footwear but nevertheless, it fares better than the standard slice of science fiction pie.

I really don’t see how a sequel could be made as all bows have been tied.

Joss Trank’s Chronicle was far more blatant and Cid’s telekinetic clout also steals from Akira.

This will make you think and won’t threaten the switch of brain shutdown that is usually associated with action popcorn.

If this isn't variety - you're predictably the greatest denier! Ud 29/01/13

During a lengthy debate, I had to occupy myself and this is the result.

I’m not quite sure how those who bear witness will react…

Some might say there is Things You Should Be Knowing.  The Cribs are an excellent starting point.

Shearwater displayed a surprising lack of Insolence.

After chewing over which mass of flowing water to dive in, White Denim noticed my confusion and offered to assist.  They pointed to that there was this River to Consider.

When listening to Wilco, I advise to always have an Open Mind.

Shoot the Water and Shoot the Runner are songs by Austra and Kasabian.

The Script saved For The First Time and U2 felt The First Time.

Muse are not just tough, they’re Invincible.

The Clash enjoyed Groovy Times and The Farm rode a Groovy Train.

Don’t rush me; I need to take a Second Look at The Soft Pack.

Switchfoot are bound to Thrive.

Shinedown offer the Sound of Madness.

Justice is under suitable Stress.

I forsee an Apocolips.  What?  Surely that’s ‘Apocalypse’.  Well, not according to Turin Brakes. It's okay though as Apocalypse Please is a Muse song.

It appears that Elbow like nothing more than to throw a Snowball.

The Raveonettes are Sleepwalking and La Sera are Sleeptalking.

Tindersticks are Waiting for the Moon, The Velvet Underground are Waiting for the Man and Nelly Furtado is Waiting for the Night.

Starsailor were caught up In the Crossfire and Brandon Flowers did well to avoid a Crossfire.

Warpaint and Deep Purple are hiding in Shadows, Puressence were Standing in your Shadow, Keane observed My Shadow and Ocean Colour Scene is fussy over It's My Shadow

I can give a fascinating Insight into Joy Division.

I don’t know why but Muse are Feeling Good.

I’m waiting for Kula Shaker to send the Cavalry.

Passion Pit will Make Light of any situation.

There is a Light that Never Goes Out, The Lights Went Out and Music When the Lights Go Out are songs by The Smiths, The Cribs and The Libertines respectively.

Theory of a Deadman don’t have a Leg to Stand On.

Everybody has a Cross to Bear and I guess Tricky is mine.

Massive Attack were arrested for a minor offence.  They weren’t charged but did have their Name Taken.

If I’m listening to White Denim and happen to be chased by a wild and rabid animal, I Start to Run.

Falling in Reverse asked me to take the blood-sucking test of sunlight, being doused with holy water and coming into contact with garlic.  After failing each test and before a stake through the heart, I guess I’m Not a Vampire.

To avoid being blown to smithereens, Biffy Clyro advises to Know your Quarry.

If It Wasn’t For Me, The Courteeners wouldn't be where they are now.

Luno is a Bloc Party track and Juno is a 2007 film.

Vampire Weekend is a band.  If I’m wrong, then I Stand Corrected.

The Devil Inside, The Evil Inside, The Man Inside and The Dead Inside are all films.  The Ghost Inside and The War Inside are songs by Broken Bells and Switchfoot respectively.

My burger van was packing up due to loss of electricity.  The Holloways were gagging for some healthy food so I borrowed their Generator.

It’s unadvisable to look down The Chamber of a gun owned by The Last Shadow Puppets as it might be loaded…

Fire in my Heart, Here in my Heart and Wound in my Heart are songs by Super Furry Animals, Ocean Colour Scene and Propaganda respectively.

For all dog lovers, which of the following terms can you associate with The Fiery Furnaces? Is it bark bark, woof woof or Bow Wow?

Not too difficult really.

When a Killer Calls and When a Stranger Calls are both films.

Dirty Pretty Things emigrated because they were Tired of England.

Shearwater is an Immaculate band.

I don't know about you but I hope Kaiser Chiefs decide to prolong their Retirement.

The world should know that American Pie is a famous teen sex comedy franchise and American Idiot is an album from Green Day.

American Beauty, American Psycho, American Balls, American Evil, American Gothic, American Gangster, American Ninja, American Graffiti and American Mary are all standalone films.

Noah and the Whale are rebuilding My Broken Heart and James Vincent McMorrow is Breaking Hearts.

The Raveonettes made many Observations and Observe and Report is not one of Seth Rogen’s best films.

Blown Away and Get Blown Away are songs by Pixies and Ocean Colour Scene respectively.

Lanterns on the Lake have I Love You, Sleepyhead Passion Pit are a Sleepyhead and Blind Melon rest in a Sleepyhouse.

Neutral Milk Hotel were nervous to hear about their exam results.  What a relief it was when the brilliant sound of You’ve Passed was issued to them.

There are many types of oranges but The Decemberists will only eat the Clementine variety.

Analyze Me and Analyze This is a Tricky song and film starring Billy Crystal and Robert De Niro respectively.

The sequel Analyse That was pretty poor.

La Sera were finally granted permission for Lift Off.

How can anybody like Coldplay?  Sorry, that’s pretty Twisted Logic.

It’s difficult to avoid Animal Collective and Bees.  They just go together so well.

“Hello, can I speak to The Subways please?”

There’s a slight pause and I was asked, not how you got this number but instead;

“It’s possible and for what particular reason?”

“Well yeah, I’d like to book a Holiday.”

She promptly hung up on me and before I accused her of rudeness, the company policy did read that they offer No Goodbyes.

The Wedding Present will Shake It, Wilco attempted to Shake it Off, Florence + the Machine will Shake it Out and Matthew Dear tried to Shake Me.

The Horrors became a Mirror’s Image and Mirror’s Edge is a PS3 game.

I can hardly watch as Doves took a Pounding.

The Hunt is a song by Grizzly Bears and In the Hunt is a 1993 Irem shmup.

Hot Chip will Arrest Yourself and Elbow will commonly Forget Myself.

I spent a Weekend in Brooklyn with Kisses.

Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads? and What Became of the Likely Lads is a classic 1970s sitcom and a song by The Libertines respectively.

James are Born of Frustration and Soft Cell felt the Frustration.

Seven whatever in songs...

Months – Portishead
Nation Army – The White Stripes
Years of Letters – The Twilight Sad
Seas – Echo & the Bunnymen
Devils – Florence + the Machine
Years – Norah Jones
Days in the Sun – Feeder
Bridges Road – The Eagles

Years of Holidays – The Walkmen
Hills - While She Sleeps
Is a Jolly Good Time – The Egg
Curses - Show of Hands
Naked Valleys - Graham Coxon
Cities of Gold - Rush
