Resident Evil: Death Island - The scoop and digest

Eiichirō Hasumi's direct sequel to Vendetta also acknowledges the events of his earlier borefest Infinite Darkness.

Matthew Mercer - Leon S. Kennedy
Nicole Tompkins - Jill Valentine
Kevin Dorman - Chris Redfield
Stephanie Panisello - Claire Redfield
Erin Cahill - Rebecca Chambers
Salli Saffioti - Hunnigan
Daman Mills - Dylan Blake
Cristina Valenzuela - Maria Gómez

Summary

At some point during late September 1998, Umbrella sends a private military firm to evacuate its high ranking officials from Raccoon City.

After JJ is bitten by a zombie, Dylan Blake is forced to kill his best friend.

San Francisco - 2015

Leon is hunting kidnapped DARPA scientist Dr. Antonio Taylor.

Meanwhile, Jill is back to her normal self, but still racked with guilt for wanting to kill everybody while under Wesker's mind control spell.

Rebecca concludes victims have been infected with an improved version of the T-virus.

Its source stems from Alcatraz Island, where a new threat awaits.

Betrayal and bio drones

Pretty meh, but better than Vendetta.

Fun fact.

Jill previously met Leon in Resident Evil: Retribution.

Filmmakers have confirmed Wesker's experimentation on Jill caused her to age slower, hence why RE3Make model is used.

Also, this is her first canonical appearance since RE 5.

Despite Maria kicking the ever loving shit out of Leon, he kills superhuman bitch in a preposterous fight to the death.

Lame villain unleashing 'his' virus on the world as revenge against Umbrella didn't make any sense.

After injecting himself with the virus, Dylan allows himself to be swallowed by a gigantic shark and fuses with B.O.W.

Oh, recreating Nemesis climax with plasma rifle instead of railgun was so LAZY.

Silent Hill-esque monster is finally destroyed when crushed by a flood gate.

I was hoping that mystery of who took broken vial in RE3Make's post-credits scene would be revealed, but frustratingly...

Makoto Fukami's screenplay contains a huge factual error.

Rebecca develops a vaccine, but actually needed a cure.  A vaccine can only be used before a virus is contracted, not after.

While there's potential for at least one more before timeline reaches Resi 7, I think CG needs a vacation more than Leon.
