Summary
In Las Palomas, gang war is rife.
On Christmas Eve 2021, Brian and his son Taylor are caught in the crossfire of a drive-by shooting and wee lad is killed.
Brian immediately goes after those involved, but a bullet from Playa's gun destroys his vocal cords.
Over the course of the next year, Brian trains vigorously in gunplay and the art of self-defence.
On the anniversary of Taylor's death, Playa and his cohorts better watch out.
Godlock's revenge
As gimmick is dialogue shy, film communicates through solid action sequences.
However, compared to the relentless insanity of previous projects such as A Better Tomorrow (1986), The Killer and Hard Boiled, shit is kinda disappointing.
Also, it takes nearly an hour for the floodgates to open.
While not nailed on, Brian pursuing Playa smacks of Chelios doing the same to Verona in Crank.
One things for sure, red balloons are the new white doves.
