It's a Wonderful Knife - The scoop and digest

Tyler MacIntyre's spin on timeless festive classic It's a Wonderful Life is written by Michael Kennedy.

Jane Widdop - Winnie Carruthers
Joel McHale - David Carruthers
Justin Long - Henry Waters
Jess McLeod - Bernie Simon

Summary

On Christmas Eve in 2022, local girl Winnie saves Angel Town by electrocuting psychotic killer Henry Waters.

One year later, Winnie wishes she was never born.  After 'something' makes plea come true, she's transported to a parallel universe where she never existed.

Waters begins another reign of terror.

I'm the best, fuck the rest

Despite enjoyable performances and some nice kills, fun premise runs out of steam way too early.

Killer's identity is revealed almost immediately and for the most part, slashings take a back seat.

Katharine Isabelle's character Gale Prescott pays tribute to Gale Weathers and Sidney Prescott.

What a Scream.

It's explained the lights of the Aurora Borealis is the spirit of someone who died violently.

So in order to return to her reality, Winnie must kill geezer again before the Borealis disappears.

Finally, I couldn't help noticing that Winnie bears an uncanny resemblance to Ashley of Resident Evil 4 fame.

Coincidence?

Who knows?
