Resident Evil 3 - Reused assets and Infected references

I wasn't very impressed with re-imagining.

Although a huge letdown, bless its lazy socks for giving me so much to talk about.

Recycling

Okay, Resi 2 (2019) was guilty of stealing from Resi 7, but shit is taken to another level.

Please understand, I'm merely showing the tip of bio-hazardous iceberg.

Where's the fun in that?

More exist, but...

Franchise is densely populated with culture, and one day, I'll reveal all.

What is THAT thing doing inside Bar Jack?

As a side note, Léon portrayed Jacques Blanc in Onimusha: Demon Siege.

There are fans, geeks etc, and there's me.

In no particular order.

Resi Evil (1996)

Not that it sent shivers up nostalgic spine, but intro features FMV.
At Spencer Memorial Hospital, Hunter Beta is introduced in identical first-person circumstances.

Route 419 takes us to Arklay Mountains.
Resi Evil 5

If you take a close look at Nemmy, several nails are embedded into body.
Possibly done for effect, but I like to think it's a design nod to:

Executioner Majini
Rocket projectile smacks of what Chris and Sheva use to take out Wesker.

Outbreak File #2

Kite Bros Railway

Zapata Beer, Umbrella Noodles and Elephant Restaurant.
Alyssa Ashcroft can pay eatery a visit.
Resi Evil 2 (1998)

Radio in Moon's Donuts belts out the kick ass rock music heard during B Scenario end credits.

Also, save room plays classic music, which also extends to hospital's equivalent.

Miscellany

Helicopter pilot in Operation Raccoon City is called Night Hawk, but also known as Lone Wolf.
Parasites open up a can of tentacle whip ass, just like Las Plagas do in Resi 4.

Yeah, get some bitch.
Fake movie poster, aptly titled Disaster, looks suspiciously similar to Japanese promo poster for Resi 6.

Capcom taking the piss out of infamous bomb?

Admirable.

Trademarks

Nemesis, Tyrant (Resi 2 2019) and Mr X (Resi 2 1998) all feel the heat.

Bloody hand-print

I clocked two instances inside hospital.

Other examples include Resi 6 (left) and Resi 7 (right).

And going back to the beginning.

Resi Evil (1996)
Tyrants have this weird mannerism of raising arm and swishing it down to the side.

During first boss fight, Nemmy continues tradition (albeit using flamethrower).

One more.

Our man discards flamethrower and promptly has Jill on the end of his rocket launcher.
And.

In either character's first scenario, Birkin tosses iron bar away, instigating boss fight.
Coincidence?

Hmmm.

My personal best

Amongst the clutter, photo of Neil Fisher (secondary antagonist of Revelations 2) can be seen on Jill's desk.

Like Alex and Albert Wesker, Fisher is able to control Uroboros form.
Jill's Report is the only document to have same name as one of the EX Files found in the unbelievable N64 port of Resi 2.

Content is totally different, but even so.

Finally.

Green herbs and rocket launcher (going BOOOOOO) stand out a mile, but fridge door displays something much more interesting.
Circled magnet marks the 21st 'anniversary' of Resi 3: Nemesis, as PS1 game was originally released in 1999.
The end?

My ink ribbon it is.
