Seven Deadly Sins

I've pondered long and hard on how to do this and decided that in order for situation to flow as smoothly as possible, repetition is regrettably unavoidable.

Warning. Some mature content.

Viewer discretion is advised.

Gluttony

Albert Anker
Sordid Flesh
DmC: Devil May Cry
Little Nightmares
Guests
aboard the Maw desperately try to score another meal in the form of Six.
Salad dodgers resemble Chihiro's parents in Spirited Away.

Designer Dennis Talajic was a fan of Studio Ghibli.

Temperance is the virtue of gluttony.

It's also a boss from The House of the Dead 4.

As with all bosses (apart from Overkill), monstrous tub of lard is named after a tarot card from the Major Arcana.

Greed

Steve Coogan portrays fashion mogul Sir Richard McCreadie (loosely based on Arcadia Group chairman Philip Green).
Pulkas
The Rumble Fish 2
Sloth

Sloth - Embracer of Extremes (Bayonetta 2)
Four Last Things
Congratulations!
You have committed the sin of Sloth.
The Sloth spends most of its life hanging around and feasting on leaves.
What a hard life.

As a superb side note.

Fool (The House of the Dead III)
Not forgetting.

The Goonies
HEY YOU GUYS!
At the beginning of The Karate Kid Part II (using footage cut from the original), Kreese calls Mr. Miyagi a 'sloth'.

Insult is carried over into Part III, with Terry Silver joining in.

Jesus Christ.  That film was fucking stupid.

Wrath

Captain Hook (Peter Pan)
Jacques de l'Ange
The Exorcist: Legion VR - Chapter 5: The Tomb
Lamb of God
2011 Australian revenge thriller.
Pride

Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty)
Phosphorescent
There's also a 2014 film of same name (which has jack shit to do with subject matter).

Hey ho.

Lust

The Raveonettes - Lust Lust Lust
Ambitious Lovers
Envy

2020 novel from Sandra Brown.
2004 Ben Stiller/Jack Black dark comedy.
Insomniac Doze is the fourth album by Envy.

The Evil Queen (Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs) and Ursula (The Little Mermaid) are both envious of female protagonists.

Albums

Kitchen Knife Conspiracy and The Tiger Lillies

Ministry - From Beer to Eternity
Women caught in geezer's net parody each sin.
Television

Treehouse of Horror XVIII (Heck House)

Flanders showcases how various characters die from a sin.
Where sinners spend all of eternity.
Bart Sells His Soul and King-Size Homer should also be noted.

The main characters in Spongebob Squarepants are based on the deadly sins, as confirmed by the audio commentary for episode Plankton! on the first season DVD boxset.

However, specifics are not disclosed.

Literature

Attributed to Richard Tarlton (one of the original members of Queen Elizabeth's Men), The Seven Deadly Sins is a two-part play.

Christopher Marlowe's Doctor Faustus feature our seven friends as characters.

The Parson's Tale (intended to be the final part of Geoffrey Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales) concerns penitence, with the second part 'confession' of the mouth illustrating the seven sins and the virtues that 'heal' them.

13th century Italian philosopher Thomas Aquinas wrote about...

The Divine Comedy

Inferno

Under the guidance of Virgil, Dante navigates the nine circles of Hell.

Of particular significance are:

Second Circle (Lust)
Third Circle (Gluttony)
Fourth Circle (Greed)
Fifth Circle (Wrath)

With the depths of Hell safely negotiated, Purgatorio is structured around the seven deadly sins.

Film

Devil's Nightmare
Baskin
The Magnificent 7 Deadly Sins
Bedazzled (1967 and 2000 remake)

Douche (Sausage Party) and Scar (The Lion King) manage to represent each sin.

In the frankly appalling Little Nicky, Adam Sandler 'dies' seven times.

The Seven Deadly Enemies of Man appear in the DC Universe.

Pride, Envy and Greed comes as standard, but shit is mixed up with Hatred, Selfishness, Laziness and Injustice.
They wouldn't debut in live-action until 2019.

Shazam!
Fury of the Gods is scheduled to be released in 2022.

Seven (1995)

Gluttony
Greed
Sloth
Lust
Pride
The final two murders are pivotal to killer twist.

We never actually see what's inside the box, but Doe soon reveals that it's Tracy's pretty head.
Because he envies David's normal life, envy is his sin.
After David learns the horrifying truth from Somerset, Doe goads Mills by telling him how Tracy begged for her life and for the life of the baby inside of her.

David becomes vengeance, thus becoming wrath.
Doe is shot six times, reflecting envy (foreshadowed by Somerset early doors).

Published monthly between 2006-2007, seven-issue comic doesn't just duplicate film's murder scenes.

Instead, it's told from John Doe's viewpoint and provides backstories for each 'innocent' victim.

Video games

Saint's Row: Gat out of Hell features 7 deadly weapons.

Armchair-A-Geddon (Sloth)

Boom Chicka (Lust)
Ark of the Covenant (Wrath)
Gallows Dodger (Pride)

Set in Apple City, adult life simulation 7 Sins demands player to make decisions around each sin to reach the apex of social ladder.

Satirical God game Afterlife places us in control of a being called the Demiurge, whose role is to create a functional Heaven and Hell, rewarding or punishing people of the Planet.

When an EMBO dies (Ethically Mature Biological Organism), it attempts to find a 'fate structure', reflecting the virtues or sins they practiced in life.

Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening

7 Hells are basic sets of enemies that appear throughout critically acclaimed prequel.

During one cinematic, behold a superb monologue.

Take it away Arkham:

He plucks the threads that make us dance, finger and toe!

We surrender in joy to the lowest of the foul and rank; we submerge through darkness, rancid filth.

Hour by hour, we move downward, ever closer to Hell, in a slow, steady gait.

Now, let the world resonate!

Sloth! Gluttony! Greed!
Envy! Lust! Wrath! And Pride!
A bell of chaos that tolls human desires!

After two thousand long years, the once sealed gate to the Demonic World will open!

Destruction! Carnage and Despair!

Let your instincts drive you!

Entrap this world in fear!

As its very name Temen-ni-gru strikes terror into the heart of mankind.

Then I will become the ultimate ruler of this wasteland engulfed with pandemonium!

The demonic power that Sparda once imprisoned.... will be mine!

As mentioned, each demonic bell statue references a sin.

Megami Tensai series (known internationally as Shin Megami Tensai)

The Lanterne of Light is a list of demons associated with the seven deadly sins.

Although text differs slightly, Peter Binsfeld's classification is basically the same.

Regardless, Atlus chose the latter.

But from hereon in.

All-Consuming Emptiness (Gluttony)
Ruler of Twisted Desire (Lust)
Kepper of the Vigil (Pride)
Lord of the Flies (Sloth)
The Molten Lord (Wrath)
Envy is bisected.

First as Resentment Made Flesh, and her majesty - The Covetous Queen.

I conclude matters with an admirable indie effort.

Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption

Essentially a boss rush (kinda like Shadow of the Colossus), player is forced to make a sacrifice before boss can be fought.

For example, taking on Pride reduces attack power.

Levy Undok (Envy)
Camber Luce (Gluttony)
Faiz Tilus (Greed)
Chanel (Lust)
Rhodes (Pride)
Yordo (Sloth)
Angronn (Wrath)
Absolve all, and true end boss awaits.
